Bonus 21-11
Three 30c stamps and Great American 5c stamp on one-ounce 1st-class political appeal sent certified, July 20, 1984.  20c paid the postage and 75c paid the certified fee.  Note the mention on the cover of first-class stamps enclosed to further encourage a donation response (as if the "certified" service wasn't enough attention; actually, this could backfire since the recipient has to sign for it and might resent the effort).   Since the letter rate was 20c and the postage reference is to the plural, I wonder if they were an Americana 10c coil pair?  Maybe someone will recall seeing this mailing with its inserts intact and can report.

Bonus 21-12

30c stamp with Great American 1c stamp and two 20c Flag stamps on four-ounce (85-113 g) 1st-class letter, October 25, 1984.  Technically a "late use", as the Great American 30c replacement was issued the prior month (although post offices generally had to order it when they needed more 30c stamps).
