Bonus 10-6. 2c stamp as make-up with 13c commemorative on 15c one-ounce 1st-class letter, Sept. 14 1979. Random sample from the range of ink and paper color shades possible on this issue. (See color study of mint stamps, next.) |

Bonus 10-7. Color study of mint 2c stamps (typical selection, not meant to be exhaustive). The top row are shiny-gummed stamps; the bottom row are dry-gummed. Note: Often the apparent paper color shade is affected by the imperfect press-ink wiping that smeared faint traces outside the engraved areas (especially on shiny-gum stamps, as most apparent here on second stamp in top row). Only the last stamp, bottom row, is on untinted paper. |
